The inevitable return

Lately I have been the JD Salinger of blogging. Hiding away in the real world ignoring the pleading of my many many readers to commit my thoughts to virtual reality. In truth, It's just been a combination of laziness and not having anything inspiring to write about that has kept me away from the blog...

Well open wide because here comes a heaping spoonful of... um... inspired blogging...

What could pull me out of a blogging hiatus you may ask? It's a little thing called Top Gear and it is one of the greatest television shows ever. If you don't watch it, stop reading, go to your TiVo, DVR, VCR, or whatever, and set it to record and save EVERY SINGLE EPISODE EVER!!! Done? Good! Now let me tell you about it! It is a BBC show about cars. That's right! A show where British people talk about cars. sounds awesome right? no? Now I've tried many many times to explain to friends, family and co workers why, even if they know nothing about cars, they should be watching this show, and I've come up with two compelling arguments.

1. The show is about charming, articulate people who are truly passionate about the thing they love and they are very good at communicating this with the audience.

2. The show is about men acting like children and doing ridiculous and extremely entertaining things that have very little to do with cars.

The first episode I saw had the three hosts each buying a used car, converting it to float and doing a cross country amphibious race that ended with two cars sinking and only the one with a mast and sail finishing the race.

What makes this show so amazing is its mix of charm, humor, and passion and you absolutely need to watch it... now, no exception, do it! I'm looking at you Katie! I don't care that you have a kid and a job and school! It will make you happy! You like to be happy don't you?

So that's my return to blogging. if it seems disjointed or hasty that is because I was typing it while watching Top Gear!!!! YAY!!
